How to Update Old iPhone to iOS 16 (iPhone 8/X/XR/XS/11)

What’s up guys, welcome back to the Tenorshare Channel. It's easy to keep your iPhone up to date with the latest features and security enhancements. What if you have an old iPhone? Can It still get the latest update? In this video, we’ll walk you through how to update your iPhone wirelessly, and how to update it using your computer. Let’s start with updating it over the air. To check for an update, open settings, Tap general, Then tap software update. You might have the option to choose between two available updates. Select the one you prefer, then tap Download and Install to proceed. If you still can’t see any update despite that your iPhone is in the compatibility list.

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot. First, try force restarting your device. We'll take iPhone 8 or later for example, press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the side button, release it when the apple logo shows up. Next, try reset your network settings. You can find the option in general, transfer or reset iPhone. Just make sure you have your Wi-Fi password ready. Next, I’ll show you how to update your iPhone using a computer. Before starting the update, make sure your device is plugged into your computer, Now open iTunes, navigate to the device icon right here, Make sure you are on the summary page, then click Update or check for update button.

Follow the prompt to update your iPhone, iTunes will be downloading the firmware. After that, it’ll start updating. Well done, now it says your iPhone has been updated to iOS 16. In settings, you can see the iOS version is 16 as well. If iTunes is giving you errors, ReiBoot will be a great alternative. Select the standard repair mode so you can update your iPhone without any data loss. Download the firmware to a location you like. Then you can start repairing and updating. So that’s it.
